E-Review of 2005: What A Year!

Mike and I went on six North American holidays; my favourite cities were Savannah, Key West and Montreal.
Of the 28 movies I saw at the cinema, the best were Million Dollar Baby, Brokeback Mountain, The Aviator, Cinderella Man, Crash, A History of Violence and Munich   We saw 30 or so bands in Chicago, but our favourite was the Editors' gig at the Cambridge Junction.  A photo of me and Charlotte with the vocalist from We Are Scientists was published in NME!    We felt honoured to see two greats on stage: John Malkovich in a play at the Steppenwolf Theatre and Daniel Barenboim conducting the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in Grant Park.    It was fun seeing Sarah Jessica Parker and Jennifer Lopez in the flesh, but imagine my excitement at being photographed with long-time fave Jennifer Aniston AND being an extra in her movie!  Since then, though, she's become irritating as she seems to be everywhere.    Our sporting highlights were seeing the Cubs play at SBC Park in San Francisco and the England football team here in Chicago; it was also great being in the Windy City when the White Sox won the World Series.    Our wider family increased by two: a niece called Clare for Mike and a cousin-once-removed called Grace for me.    And as for our New Year's resolutions, I've listened to one of the Spanish language CDs Mike gave me for my birthday, but he hasn't had any bass guitar lessons, though he does pick up his Fender (pictured on his homepage) from time to time ... hope we do better next year!
