On a cold Tuesday morning outside the Chicago Theater, Mayor Daley presented Jennifer Hudson with a plaque in honour of Jennifer Hudson Day in Chicago, hot on the heels of the Governor's proclamation that February 26th was Jennifer Hudson Day across Illinois. The Academy Award-winning actress from Chicago's south side brought along her mother (in red) and her Oscar statuette, thanked the crowd and sang a song from the Dreamgirls movie that made her a star.
