The Three Days of St Patrick

Back ] Up ] Next ]

Saturday was the main day of celebration when we met friends downtown for the parade  -  however, not sure of the exact route, we missed it!  On Sunday Mike and I ventured south to the Irish enclave of Beverly and caught the post-parade celebrations.  By Monday we were worn out and so kept it quiet and local.  I must say, the weather was grand for the time of year.

St Patrick's Day (Itself), Mar 17

A pint of Guinness at Corcoran's to wash down our fish 'n' chips.

South Side Irish Parade, Mar 16

Chicago's South Side Irish played NYC at rugby.

The first of several Irish pubs along Western Avenue.

Hoping for a lift  -  we're a long way from home!

Mike wasted no time opening his own bar.

Chicago St Patrick's Day Parade, Mar 15

A pre-parade pint of the black stuff in Howl at the Moon.

Then down to the river to see the water dyed green.

The rest of the day was spent at Lizzie McNeill's.
